Contractions Worksheets and Activities

Contractions are when two words are combined with an apostrophe. Contractions save speakers and writers time, but they are generally considered to be informal. Because of this contractions should only be used in casual conversations, writings, or dialogue in narratives.

Nonetheless, contractions are covered under grade level standards of the CCSS. They are also a staple of our language. So students should learn which words can be contracted and how we form them. Here are some worksheets and activities to help students better understand contractions.
