Theme Lessons

Identifying the theme of a story can be difficult. Teach your students to identify the themes with these PowerPoint slideshows. These lessons teach students what a theme is and offer some tips on how to extract the theme from a story. Each lesson also contains practice problems at the end.

Theme Lesson 2 – This is a slight revision of the first theme lesson. It includes different practice problems at the end of the lesson. You may appreciate this if you are teaching theme to two different grade levels. I’d present this one to the older group of students.

  1. I always like answer keys to verify my thinking as being in agreement with the author of the PPT or worksheet before presenting it to my students.
